Established in 2022 and first held in 2023, AIFF is Runway's annual showcase for filmmakers and artists using AI tools in production. Ten finalists are selected from thousands of submissions each year and shown at gala screenings in New York and Los Angeles before partner festivals worldwide. The 2025 edition drew more than 6,000 submissions and was judged by Gaspar Noé, Harmony Korine, and Tribeca's Jane Rosenthal; prizes run from a $15,000 Grand Prix plus 1,000,000 Runway credits down to five Merit awards.
